ANCESTRAL FUTURES

ON VIEW JUN 27-SEPT 17

Ancestral Futures isn’t about nostalgia.

It’s about bringing the past along for the ride – into our homes, our celebrations, and our futures yet to be built.

To create new worlds that know where they came from. To play with tradition, with reverence and joy. To invite our ancestors to dance alongside us.

موروث المستقبل

Rooted in primal elements of sand, stone, light, and scent, Ancestral Futures honors Arabic designers who are weaving ideas across worlds and time, creating objects that burn with meaning and connect us to all who came before. Shaped in collaboration with Emirati curator Fatma Al Mahmoud, with works by:

Ancestral Futures is where memory shapeshifts.

Where old materials find new voices,
and rituals learn to play.

Things glow here. They hum. They carry a charge, from past to future and back again.
