Flow
Flow is a modern take on the sand hour glass and a depiction of landscapes. It visualizes the ephemeral and enduring qualities of time through the use of timeless materials: stone and sand. Flow is designed to tell time with the intimacy of movement within the interior of the rock.
The quality of time cannot solely be measured through the grains but through its flow. With each turn, the sand moves slowly and steadily obeying the force of gravity to mark 10 minutes. It does not nostalgically look back, but looks forward to what is yet to come.

______
Talin Hazbar is a multidisciplinary Syrian artist whose work delves into the quiet transformation of natural materials. She explores the cycles of growth and decay, capturing the essence of time as seen in nature’s constant evolution on both microscopic and grand scales. Her work bridges architecture, design and art to connect with landscapes and the intricate materiality of the natural world. Through her research-based studies, she looks to redefine material experimentation to better understand the context of landscapes, material properties and organic processes so that they may be both sensitively and functionally applied in creative practice.
