To live in the Palestinian diaspora is to know this distance intimately. Home exists simultaneously as origin, memory, inheritance, and absence. The source becomes more distant, yet continues to shape identity and the physical and mental spaces we inhabit. What is inherited bends, adapts, disperses, and reconstitutes itself as it moves.

In 𝙎 𝘼 𝘿 𝘼  صدى, Aweida constructs metallic bodies that fold echoes into waves, spirals, thresholds, and shifting gradient fields, with repeated elements changing in orientation and relationship as they move from the source. This is the condition of the echo. It is never identical to the sound that produced it. Distance delays it. Space redirects it. Its intensity changes. It may become faint, fragmented, or transformed. But something fundamental always survives the journey. 

The works in 𝙎 𝘼 𝘿 𝘼  صدى draw on the algorithms hidden in nature that have long shaped Aweida’s practice. His precise aluminum geometries are built by inviting grand-scale manufacturing robotics to move in ways they never imagined, bending and shaping elements alongside Aweida’s own hand. The Jacquard loom was humanity’s first code, a lineage Aweida extends in Sada as metalweaving. 

Distance can alter the echo. It cannot erase its origin.
