Reverie Woven
This conceptual carpet bridges tradition and identity, drawing inspiration from Islamic gardens to honor cultural heritage and continuity. Rooted in Areen's Palestinian background, it reflects a deep connection to the earth and history. The central motif represents the heart of the garden, where water flows as a metaphor for life and spiritual transcendence. Encircling this is a light blue border, chosen to convey openness and an inviting, limitless boundary rather than confinement. This contrast between the anchored center and the expansive border encourages reflection on how individuals and cultures establish roots while embracing the freedom to grow beyond limitations.

______
Areen Hassan is a Palestinian textile artist and designer whose work exists at the intersection of heritage, identity, and storytelling. For Hassan, textiles are more than fabric—they are a language, a vessel for memory, a bridge between past and present. Growing up in Palestine, she was surrounded by embroidery and traditional weaving, where every stitch carried resilience, history, and untold stories.
Her practice challenges the conventional role of textiles, unraveling, layering, and transforming materials to explore identity and cultural evolution.
