Curated by Minetta Rogers, the Institute for Art and Olfaction presents olfactory provocations that evoke the dreamlike, sometimes nightmarish state of our moment.
This range of scents showcases historical scents from the birth of Surrealism, contemporary olfactory art portraying
the trancelike states between waking life and the turmoil of our imaginations, and contemporary perfumes celebrating
fruitful, fertile, and sometimes monstrous visions. Each scent is presented in a glass cloche accompanied by a red clay icon that playfully references Surrealist motifs.
OUR STORY
The Institute for Art and Olfaction is a nonprofit dedicated to access, experimentation and education in the field of perfumery and the larger world of scent. Our goal is to create new points of entry for people interested in the field of olfaction, while accommodating creative ideas in all media.
OUR PROGRAMS
We develop programs that support and highlight creative practices in scent, such as the Experimental Scent Summit, the annual Art and Olfaction Awards, the biennial Scent Fair, our gallery space, and our ongoing classes and workshops. Learn more about at artandolfaction.com.
